The new Oasis chair, manufactured by Michigan-based La-Z-Boy Inc., has so many bells and whistles that couch potatoes may never leave their seats again.

“For years, we’ve heard all the ideas for the perfect sports-fan chair, the kind you can just hunker down in without having to get up between plays,” said John J. Case, vice president of marketing for La-Z-Boy. “So we figured, why not? Let’s make it.”

Flip up one armrest, and there’s a mini-fridge that holds six 12-ounce cans. Flip up the other arm and there’s a built-in telephone to order pizza. (You can put the number on speed dial.)

The phone also offers caller ID, so you can determine whether the person calling as the clock ticks down during the fourth quarter is a friend or foe.

Last but not least, you can relax away any pregame jitters or postgame blues with Oasis’ 10-motor massage and heat system.

The $899 chair is available in various fabrics and leathers. And there’s talk of adding team colors later this year.
