ORANGE
East Orange development was the hot topic at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting as members debated the area’s future. Possibilities for the area include a maximum-security jail, a joint-use library and/or a housing development.
Mayor Joanne Coontz said the city will hold a community meeting Sept. 29 to discuss the East Orange General Plan, which took about 15 years and millions of dollars to develop.
The plan slates areas of unincorporated east Orange for future housing and school development.
