Lucy Jones
* I just finished reading your interview with Lucy Jones of Caltech (Opinion, Sept. 5), regarding earthquakes. I am a practicing engineer and, like Jones, I am in the business of dealing with the challenges the Earth sends us. But a key part of the interview was her understanding of the psychological impacts of such events. I have only some training in the dynamics of earthquakes, and so, when I experience one, I look to people like Jones to explain it to me. She does a wonderful job of “making it better” and helping me understand what has just happened. Thanks, Lucy. I think you’re doing a great service in a way we can understand.
