Prayer Breakfast Set at Irvine Marriott
The fourth annual South Orange County Leadership Prayer Breakfast will take place on Sept. 24 from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Irvine Marriott. The interfaith program is hosted by Alliance for Spiritual Community and will feature local religious leaders reading from the sacred scriptures of their faiths, including Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hindu, Judaism and Native American spirituality.
“We all have an obligation to reach out to people and share the real benefits of living in a country where freedom of religion is valued,” said Laguna Niguel Mayor Mark Goodman.
The breakfast also will feature Rafer Johnson, gold medalist for the decathlon in the 1960 Olympic Games. Johnson will speak about his autobiography “The Best That I can Be” and encourage individuals to use their talents to their fullest.
Tickets for the event cost $25, including breakfast. The Marriott is at 18000 Von Karman Ave. Reservations and information: (949) 661-3087.
