Man Shot in Chest Outside Home Dies
A 41-year-old Oxnard man shot in the chest two weeks ago died Wednesday, police said.
Mario O’Campo, a married father of six and a packing plant employee, died at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, said Mitch Breese, a deputy county coroner.
O’Campo was shot once about 10:45 p.m. Sept. 12 outside his house in the 100 block of Dolores Court in Oxnard, said Sgt. Lee Wilcox.
Police have no motive for the shooting and no suspects. Officers were canvassing the neighborhood Wednesday night to find a witness, the sergeant said.
Anyone with information should call Det. Randey Cole at 385-7760.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
