MEN’S NOTES

UCLA-bound T.J. Cummings, playing in front of his future coaches, made his only shot and had one rebound in four minutes Sunday in the NABC/Nike International Hoop Summit, a high school all-star game at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The extent of Cummings’ immediate role with the Bruins will depend on whether Jerome Moiso and/or JaRon Rush make themselves available for the NBA draft.

In preparation for a possible major role as a freshman, the Illinois native said he plans to head to Los Angeles in mid-summer to acclimate to the new surroundings and work out with his father, former NBA standout Terry Cummings, and Magic Johnson.

“We’re just going to be eating, running, lifting, playing,” T.J. Cummings said.

Cummings’ four minutes Sunday, with UCLA Coach Steve Lavin and assistants Michael Holton and Jim Saia in attendance, were the fewest of any player. Zach Randolph, headed to Michigan State, had a game-high 24 points as the U.S. all-stars defeated an international team, 98-97, before about 5,000.
