Leisure World’s earthquake fair on Saturday drew a crowd of nearly 3,000 of the community’s residents.

That turnout was higher than vendors anticipated, and some ran out of materials to distribute, said Mary Stone, earthquake fair chairwoman.

“The whole purpose of the fair is to develop an awareness of what’s available during emergencies and how people can take responsibility for their own needs, but do this in a fun way,” Stone said.
