IRVINE
It’s been around for 18 years. But this week’s annual Honors Concert will probably be the last if Irvine schools lose their enriched music programs next year.
Just days before the city’s voters decide on a flat $95 parcel tax on Tuesday, hundreds of students will show off their musical talents in a concert Thursday.
Should the tax measure fail, enriched music programs in the schools are set to disappear as the Irvine Unified School District makes $4 million in budget cuts.
Tickets to the concerts cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at Calvary Church of Santa Ana, 1010 N. Tustin Ave.
