VAN NUYS — A 15-year-old boy found unconscious in the bedroom of his Van Nuys home was pronounced dead at a hospital Wednesday, but police say no foul play is suspected.
The cause of death has been classified as undetermined, pending the results of an autopsy, said Officer Don Cox of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Lt. Dan Aikin of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said the boy had no history of medical problems.
Paramedics were called to the home in the 16000 block of Gault Street about 6:40 a.m., said Jim Wells, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“He was in full [cardiac] arrest when we transported him,” Wells said. The boy, whose name authorities did not release, was declared dead upon arrival at Valley Presbyterian Hospital.
