June Trial Set for 4 in Boy’s Kidnapping
Three people accused of kidnapping a 4-year-old boy from outside his Alhambra home Dec. 15 and a fourth who was accused in connection with the abduction will go on trial June 7, a judge said Thursday.
Kelly Dinh, 20, Linda Nguyen, 18, and Christopher Philip Martin, 21, entered not-guilty pleas in Pasadena Superior Court to eight counts, including kidnapping for ransom and child stealing.
They could face life in prison with the possibility of parole if convicted of all the charges, the district attorney’s office said.
A fourth defendant, Pini Pung, 19, faces about four years in prison if convicted of child stealing, child custody deprivation, false imprisonment and being an accessory after the fact.
Several days after the boy was kidnapped, he was found at an El Monte hotel with Nguyen and Pung, police said. Investigators say they also found a ransom note demanding $200,000.
