Esperanza 5, Huntington Beach 1--Kristen Shea had a two-run triple for Esperanza (11-3, 1-1).
Los Alamitos 7, Edison 2--Amy Cummings had two hits and Kristin Farber went three for three with one RBI for visiting Los Alamitos (8-5, 2-0).
In the Century League:
No. 2 Foothill 8, Canyon 0--Caitlin Lowe had three of the Knights’ eight stolen bases, bringing their season total to 63. Tiffany Haas had three hits and two RBIs for Foothill (14-1, 2-0) and Courtney Fossatti (10-0) pitched a two-hitter.
In the Empire League:
El Dorado 1, No. 4 Kennedy 0 (13)--Kristi Durant singled, took second on a sacrifice by Rashell Pacourek and scored on Kim Sanders’ double. Kristen Karanzias (7-3) pitched a three-hitter and struck out nine for the Golden Hawks (7-5-1, 3-0). Michelle Turner (8-3) gave up five hits and struck out 12 for Kennedy (10-3, 1-2), which lost its second consecutive game.
Loara 3, Katella 1 (8)--Winning pitcher Katie Joosten hit a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning.
In the Freeway League:
Sonora 10, Buena Park 1--Dawn Ramynke hit a two-run double for visiting Sonora (15-4, 2-0). Teammate Cacie Goetz had one hit, two RBIs and one stolen base for the Raiders.
Troy 6, La Habra 2--Lindsey Knoff had four hits and two RBIs and Sophia Reynolds had three hits and three RBIs for Troy (13-5, 1-1).
In the Olympic League:
Orange Lutheran 3, Whittier Christian 1--Laura Miklos (6-1) pitched a one-hitter for Orange Lutheran (12-2-1, 3-0).
In the Orange League:
Savanna 6, Magnolia 0--Sophomore Michelle Lopez had two hits and two runs for Savanna (9-5, 1-1).
Valencia 12, Anaheim 1 (5, mercy)--Michelle Pietka went four for four with a home run, a double and seven RBIs for host Valencia.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Costa Mesa 5, University 3--Laura Ramos’ RBI single in the sixth inning gave Costa Mesa (5-7, 2-0) the edge.
Northwood 11, Corona del Mar 6--Allison Pizula had three hits and four RBIs and Amanda Garza drove in four runs with a home run and a double for Northwood (7-2, 2-0).
In the Serra League:
No. 1 Mater Dei 2, Lakewood St. Joseph’s 0--Tia Bollinger pitched a one-hitter and struck out 15 for visiting Mater Dei (22-0, 1-0). Allison Solis tripled and scored after beating the throw home on a rundown and Christina Clark had a run-scoring ground out.
