A Lido Isle resident is asking city officials to remove a speed bump located in front of his house.
Brian Singer said the speed bump causes noise and safety hazards on the residential street. The yellow plastic speed bump, at the intersection of Via Lido Nord and Via Genoa, was installed about a month ago on a trial basis. The intersection is next to Genoa Park, and neighbors were concerned about the possibility of speeding drivers hitting children.
But Singer says his wife has nearly been hit by swerving motorists on several occasions. His attorney has written a letter to city officials requesting “expedient action to resolve this matter.”
