A brush fire in the hills of the Cleveland National Forest that worried residents for miles was a controlled burn set by the Orange County Fire Authority, a spokeswoman said.
Fire officials started burning hundreds of acres of brush Tuesday. The burns will help firefighters contain and prevent any natural forest fires in the area, the spokeswoman said. The burns will continue for at least the rest of the week.
