In the Big West tournament:

University 9, Aliso Niguel 6--Jay Nichols went three for three with three doubles and five runs batted in and Noah Edmonds hit a pinch-hit home run for University (13-4).

In the Florida Sunshine national tournament:

Foothill 5, Ft. Walton Beach (Fla.) 3--Brett Twomey and David Stone each had two RBIs for Foothill (9-8).

In the Las Vegas tournament:

El Toro 13, San Bernardino San Gorgonio 8--Joe Kimbrel went four for four with a home run in a consolation game for El Toro (9-8-1). Kimbrel was three for three in an earlier 11-10 eight-inning loss to Las Vegas.

In the Pride of the Coast tournament:

Corona del Mar 9, Orange 7--Alex Swanson went three for four and stole three bases to give him 22 for the season as the host Sea Kings (10-7) held on for the second-round victory. Dave Knecht went two for three with a run-scoring double and pitched 4 1/3 innings for the win.

In the Santa Ana Elks tournament:

Garden Grove 9, Los Amigos 5--Greg Benoit had two hits, scored three runs and stole four bases for the Argonauts (7-11) in a consolation game at Santa Ana High.

Matt Crippen pitched out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the seventh for his first save.

Santiago 5, Century 4--Lee Sutherland had three hits and three RBIs and Brian Pilkington recorded seven strikeouts for the visiting Cavaliers (9-8).

Westminster 9, Pacifica 1--Fred Rodriguez pitched a four-hitter, had two hits, scored twice and knocked in a run for Westminster (10-7). Center fielder Jared Jenkins had two hits and scored twice for Westminster, which plays Santa Ana Valley at 1 p.m. today.
