This May’s ratings sweeps feature lavish miniseries, specials and season finales of favorite series. It’s also the swan song for two long-running Fox dramas. And an award-winning sitcom star also will be bowing out of his popular series after four seasons.

Here are some of the upcoming sweeps highlights:

farewells

“Party of Five”: The award-winning drama says goodbye after six seasons in a two-hour finale. May 3, Fox.

“Beverly Hills, 90210”: The addictive teen soap leaves fans cold turkey after 10 seasons; a two-hour send-off. May 17, Fox.

“Spin City”: Michael J. Fox, who is battling Parkinson’s disease, departs his series in a special one-hour episode featuring his former “Family Ties” father, Michael Gross. May 24, ABC.

SERIES

“Friends”: Bruce Willis joins his “The Whole Nine Yards” co-star Matthew Perry for a three-episode stint on the hit sitcom. He’ll play the widowed father of Ross’ college-student girlfriend. Thursday, NBC.

“The X-Files”: Tea Leoni (Mrs. David Duchovny) and Garry Shandling play actors playing Scully and Mulder in a big-screen film. April 30, Fox.

“Who Wants to be a Millionaire”: Regis Philbin hosts three special editions of the No. 1 series in which celebs including Ray Romano, Drew Carey and David Duchovny try to earn a cool million for their favorite charities. May 1-3, ABC.

“Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher”: The irreverent series tapes five shows inside Maricopa County Prison in Arizona. Begins May 1, ABC

“Monsignor Renard”: Three-part “Masterpiece Theatre” drama starring John Thaw (“Inspector Morse”) as a Catholic priest who confronts the Nazis in occupied France during World War II. May 7, 14 and 21. KCET.

“Take Me Home: The John Denver Story”: Chad Lowe plays the popular singer whose life ended in a tragic plane accident. April 30, CBS.

“Arabian Nights”: Robert Halmi (“Merlin,” “The Odyssey”) produced this lavish four-hour adventure based on the stories from “A Thousand and One Nights.” Mili Avital, John Leguizamo and Alan Bates are among the stars. April 30-May 1, ABC.

“The 70s”: After its success with its miniseries “The ‘60s,” NBC now takes a journey through the disco decade in a two-part drama starring Brad Rowe, Vinessa Shaw and Amy Smart. April 30-May 1, NBC.

“Miracle in Lane Two”: Frankie Muniz stars in this fact-based family drama. May 6, Disney Channel.

“Geppetto”: “The Wonderful World of Disney” original musical version of “Pinocchio,” with stars Drew Carey and Brent Spiner. May 7, ABC.

“Jason and the Argonauts”: The ever-busy Robert Halmi also produced this four-hour adventure set in Greece. Jason London plays the dashing Jason who sets out to find the Golden Fleece. May 7-8, NBC.

“Cupid & Cate”: “Hallmark Hall of Fame” romantic comedy starring Mary-Louise Parker, Peter Gallagher and Bebe Neuwirth. May 7, CBS.

“My Mother the Spy”: Dyan Cannon and Gloria Stuart star in a comedy. May 8, Lifetime.

“Jesus”: Jeremy Sisto has the title role in this four-hour historical drama about the life and mission of Jesus Christ. May 14 and 17, CBS.

“Murder She Wrote: A Story to Die For”: Angela Lansbury reprises her role of sleuth Jessica Fletcher in a new murder mystery. May 18, CBS.

“The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood”: John Schneider, Tom Wopat, Catherine Back and others from the hit ‘80s series return for this comedy in which the Dukes come to Tinseltown. May 19, CBS.

“Growing Up Brady”: Barry Williams stars as himself in this adaptation of his book about life on “The Brady Bunch.” May 21, NBC.

“The Wednesday Woman”: Meredith Baxter, John Heard and Peter Coyote star in a suspense drama. May 24, CBS.

“Witness: Voices from the Holocaust”: Documentary featuring never-before-released interviews with survivors of and witnesses to the Holocaust. May 1, KCET.

“On Hollowed Ground: Streetball Champions of Rucker Park”: Andre Braugher narrates this documentary on the famed park that is considered sacred ground among basketball enthusiasts. May 6, TNT.

“Joe DiMaggio: The Hero’s Life”: An “American Experience” documentary on the famed New York Yankee. May 8, KCET.

“The 49th Annual Miss Universe Pageant”: More than 80 women from around the globe will compete for the title. May 12, CBS.

“Twenty-Five Years of No. 1 Hits: Arista Records’ Anniversary Celebration”: Whitney Houston, Sarah McLachlan, Annie Lennox, Carly Simon and Santana are among the performers on this musical anniversary tribute to label founder Clive Davis. May 15, NBC.
