Moorpark College will present its Student Choreography Festival beginning today at the campus Performing Arts Center. The program will feature original ballet, jazz and modern dance works.

Family Theater

The Young Artists Ensemble will revisit the yellow brick road Friday when “The Wizard of Oz” opens at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. A 40-member cast, ranging in age from 10 to 19, will present the family classic in full costume and with colorful sets.

Farm Festival

Faulkner Farm in Santa Paula will host FarmFest 2000, a daylong event Saturday offering lots of activities. The event will celebrate the history and importance of agriculture in Ventura County with demonstration gardens, art exhibits, tours of the historic Faulkner House, a petting zoo, a living history program, food and live music.

Spring Concert

The Ventura College music department will present its seasonal faculty and student showcase concert Saturday. Guest faculty artists Carlos Gonzales and Mariana Franco-Sommer will perform “History of the Tango,” a duet for guitar and flute by Astor Piazzolla. Other performances will be by the Ventura College Chorus, chamber music ensembles and students from the college’s private lessons program.
