Pitching In on No-Hitter Earns Accolade for Douglass

Sean Douglass, a 1997 graduate of Antelope Valley High, was selected pitcher of the week in the double-A Eastern League.

Douglass, a 6-foot-5 right-hander, pitched the first six innings of a combined no-hitter for Bowie (Orioles) in a 5-0 victory over Altoona on April 19.

Douglass was a second-round selection by the Orioles, the 73rd player chosen in the 1997 amateur draft.

Double A--Left fielder Eric Cole (Antelope Valley High, Antelope Valley College) had three hits, including a grand slam, and five runs batted in for Round Rock (Astros). Round Rock shortstop David Matranga (Pepperdine) hit a double.
