About 1,000 middle school students were evacuated from a Huntington Beach campus Thursday after a bomb threat, authorities said, but no explosives were found.

Police officers and school staff searched Isaac L. Sowers Middle School on Indianapolis Avenue after an adult male called the school, warning that there were explosives around the building, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Luis Ochoa said.

The students, who were evacuated to a nearby field, resumed school about 11 a.m., Ochoa said.
