Moorpark College Summer Arts Festival 2000 will continue Saturday with “Dancing Under the Stars” at the campus center quad. A student dance presentation will make up the first portion of the evening, followed by an open swing dance.

Zydeco

Lisa Haley & the Zydekats will provide bayou rhythms for the next installment of the “Music Under the Stars” summer series at Olivas Adobe in Ventura. Bring a pair of comfortable dancing shoes or an appetite for fun music.

Blues

Fans of the blues will appreciate Mighty Mo Rodgers’ appearance Sunday as part of the seasonal concert series at Conejo Community Park. The veteran keyboardist, singer and songwriter calls his music “nu bluez,”--an individualistic style derived from such influences as Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed, Albert Collins and T-Bone Walker.

Farewell

The conclusion of the Ventura County Fair is nearing, but there is still plenty going on over at Seaside Park in Ventura. For instance: Tower of Power and War (tonight at 7:30); Kenny Chesney with Williams & Ree (Friday, 7:30 p.m.); Flying U PRCA Rodeo (Saturday-Sunday). And don’t forget the carnival midway and all the greasy eats. Admission note: Today is Military Appreciation Day--all military personnel holding a current, valid ID will be admitted free.
