* Polo--The Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club will host a Pacific Coast Open polo tournament kick-off party on Friday. The first-time event will offer a professional polo game between international players who are participating in the Pacific Coast Open tournament the next three weeks. * Theater--DramaDogs and the Santa Barbara Dance Alliance will stage “Infinite Notion” this weekend at Center Stage Theatre in downtown Santa Barbara. The drama, a new work by playwrights Michelle Osborne and Erica Connell, aims to “explore the past, consider the present and ponder the future.” Show times: Friday, 8 p.m.; Saturday, 2 and 8 p.m. $15 general; $10 senior citizens and students with ID. * Elizabethan--The Santa Barbara Live Oak Renaissance Faire and Midsummer Market will open Saturday at Live Oak Camp near Lake Cachuma. It features continuous performances on five stages, plus strolling entertainers, food and more. Hours: Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Ends Aug. 20. * Opera--Richard Strauss’ masterpiece “Ariadne auf Naxos” will be staged twice at the Lobero Theatre as part of the Music Academy of the West’s summer festival.
