Man Found in Pool Is Hospitalized in Critical State
A man found unconscious at the bottom of a backyard swimming pool in Brea was in very critical condition at a local hospital late Thursday, authorities said.
Russell Dansen, 74, was discovered about 4:15 p.m. at the home in the 1100 block of West Birchcrest by a Brea Police Department officer who was responding to a call. Officer Steve Thompson “jumped into the pool and single-handedly removed” Dansen, according to a statement from the Police Department.
Dansen was taken to Brea Community Hospital, where he was in intensive care, authorities said.
