LA HABRA
City officials approved a plan to give one of its three fire stations a face lift, settling on a landscape that includes more trees and vegetation.
Fire Station No. 2, at 520 S. Harbor Blvd., was pegged for landscape improvements because of beautification efforts along Harbor Boulevard, city officials said.
The station is also the Fire Department’s location for its open house, where firefighters show the public the equipment and vehicles they use to fight fires.
Under the plan, trees and shrubs will line the front of the station, while allowing fire officials adequate views during emergencies. Vines will cover the station’s now bare chain-link fence.
