City officials commended resident and Boy Scout Stephen Redd, 17, for renovations he made to the La Habra Boxing Club’s weight room.
Redd organized work crews and found funds to remove one of the club’s walls and expand the weight room, nearly doubling its size, and repaint the work area. Redd performed the service project to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank a scout can achieve.
A scout since age 8, Redd was recognized in a Court of Honor ceremony over the weekend with his peers from La Habra Ward Boy Scout Troop 887, sponsored by the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
