Convention Spending
* At the close of another two political conventions, I am wondering why it is necessary to promote the obscene spending of countless millions of dollars, energy and time making a party for delegates to political conventions that last for three days too long? If each party really cared about making a difference, wouldn’t it make more sense to buy some television time, introduce the candidates, provide time for the speeches and then take the show on the road to where the voters are?
I am saddened by the amount of resources it took Los Angeles to throw this political party. Perhaps we should have asked departing guests at the airport to donate small change to help repay the host city for its enormous monetary investment in an event for a chosen few.
