* Family--Gypsies in a Trunk, a youth theater troupe, will stage an adaptation of “Hansel and Gretel” on Sept. 2 at Rancho Simi Amphitheater in Simi Valley. Picnicking is encouraged. No pets. Show times: 4 and 5:30 p.m. The venue is at Erringer Road and Royal Avenue. Free. 522-0449.

* Air Show--The Experimental Aircraft Assn. will host its 20th annual Air Show in Camarillo Sept. 2 and 3. Highlights: B-25 Mitchell Bomber, P-51 Mustang Fighter, TBM Avenger Torpedo Bomber, F-4U Corsair Fighter, Hawker Seafury Fighter, A-26 Invader Bomber and Trojan T-28 Trainer. Gates are scheduled to open at 8 a.m., with a pancake breakfast. Flying demonstrations will end at 4 p.m. The Camarillo Airport is at 330 Skyway Drive. $5 general; free for ages 12 and under. 482-0064.

* Theater--Conejo Players Afternoon Theatre in Thousand Oaks will open Alan Ball’s drama, “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,” Sept. 3. Five bridesmaids learn about themselves and each other while seeking refuge from a wedding reception. Performances will be Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Ends Sept. 23. The theater is at 351 S.
