Oregon Struggles Past Santa Clara
Angelina Wolvert scored 18 points and Jenny Mowe had all 16 of her points in the second half as No. 12 Oregon used two key scoring runs to struggle past Santa Clara, 62-54, at Portland, Ore.
The Ducks (4-0) went on an 11-2 run in the last 3 1/2 minutes of the first half to tie the game, then added a 14-1 run early in the second half to take control.
No. 8 Iowa State 81, DePaul 65--Angie Welle scored 24 points in 22 minutes and Tracy Gahan added 13 points and 12 rebounds as Iowa State cruised over DePaul at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Cyclones (4-0) shut down DePaul scoring leader Lenae Williams and were not threatened after building a 25-point halftime lead. DePaul is 1-3.
No. 9 Louisiana Tech 54, Indiana 53--Ayana Walker had 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech over Indiana (7-1), whichmissed a short shot as time expired, in the Hobby/Hilton Classic at Houston.
Amber Obaze and Takeisha Lewis each added 12 points for the Lady Techsters (6-1).
No. 14 Auburn 106, Arkansas-Little Rock 37--Carol Smith scored 18 points and Shera Looney added 16 as Auburn (7-0) won the University of South Florida Classic at Tampa, Fla.
No. 21 Xavier 89, Wisconsin-Green Bay 74--Nicole Levandusky scored a career-high 30 points and had eight steals to lead the Musketeers to a victory at Green Bay, Wis.
Wisconsin Green Bay (3-3) led, 41-35, at halftime and was up 54-43 with 14:52 remaining, but Xavier (5-0) outscored the Phoenix, 31-10, over the next 10 minutes.
Northern Iowa 74, No. 24 Illinois 70--Nadine Brandt hit three three-point shots in the final 2:09, and Katie Sorrell hit two critical free throws to lift Northern Iowa over Illinois (2-3) at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Northern Iowa (5-1) blew an eight-point lead, then rallied to beat a ranked team for the first time.
