Maryland Handles George Washington

Byron Mouton scored 17 points as No. 13 Maryland beat George Washington, 71-63, Sunday in the championship game of the BB&T; Classic at Washington.

SirValiant Brown had 18 points and Jaason Smith added 14 for George Washington, which closed to 64-61 with 1:44 left, but Lonny Baxter made two late free throws to secure the victory.

Baxter and Juan Dixon each had 13 points for the Terrapins (3-3).

No. 19 St. John’s 97, Michigan 83--Anthony Glover scored a season-high 27 points to lead the Red Storm in the third-place game in the BB&T; Classic.

Coco Miller scored 17 points to lead No. 7 Georgia past No. 5 Rutgers, 82-53, at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
