Sky Jack Tops Pincay’s Day
Jockey Laffit Pincay had four victories on the Hollywood Park card Sunday, including Sky Jack, the front-running, seven-length winner in the $100,000 Native Diver Handicap.
Sky Jack, trained by Doug O’Neill, led all the way, paying $6.00 as the favorite after completing 1 1/8 miles in 1:46 4/5, the second-fastest running of the stake since it was switched to the current distance in 1986.
Sky Jack, a California-bred, is a gelded son of Jaklin Klugman and Sky Captive who has won six of 10 starts.
Lethal Instrument finished second, 3 1/2 lengths ahead of Grey Memo.
Pincay begins a five-day suspension Wednesday, the result of a stewards’ ruling after the disqualification of Designed For Luck in the Early Times Hollywood Derby last week.
