Florida Reinstates Dupay
Guard Teddy Dupay, whose No. 8 Florida Gators play at No. 2 Michigan State tonight, was reinstated after a one-game suspension. Dupay was involved in a controversial play in last season’s title game between the teams when he got tangled up with the Spartans’ Mateen Cleaves after the whistle had blown. Cleaves stepped on Dupay’s foot and sprained his ankle, knocking him out of the game for several minutes. Some in Michigan State circles felt Dupay was delivering a cheap shot. . . . The NCAA reinstated Arizona forward Richard Jefferson after a one-game suspension for accepting gifts from former UCLA and NBA great Bill Walton. . . . Auburn forward Mack McGadney has a torn ligament in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season. . . . Virginia Tech forward Dennis Mims was suspended from the team indefinitely for violating a team rule on class attendance.
