Novelist to Sign Work at Bookstore

Ventura College English instructor Melissa Hart Romero will read from and sign her first novel, “Long Way Home,” at Table of Contents Bookstore in Ojai on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The novel follows a year in the life of a 12-year-old girl whose happy suburban childhood is torn apart when she becomes caught in a custody battle.

Romero, who has taught writing at Ventura College for four years, is also scheduled to speak Jan. 3 at Borders Books in Thousand Oaks on working with a small publishing house.
