Thumbs Down on Pylon Project
So architect Ted Tokio Tanaka calls his contribution to the Gateway LAX Enhancement Project an “Electronic Stonehenge” (“The Real L.A. Luminaries,” So SoCal, by Michael T. Jarvis, Nov. 19). I call the glass pylons “giant illuminated toilet paper tubes.” I’d much rather that the $10 million had been spent to alleviate parking problems or difficulties in catching a cab at the airport instead of for this bloated eyesore.
