The City Council recently rejected a proposed contract with Waters & Faubel to produce a full-color brochure urging residents to register and vote in the March election.

The 3-2 vote came amid concerns that opponents of Measure F, the Safe and Healthy Communities Initiative aimed at putting the proposed El Toro airport to a two-thirds vote, could hold the city liable for damages if airport plans are quashed.

The council also unanimously approved an allocation of about $37,000 to Digital Map Products to provide software and data applications for a geographic imaging system used in the city’s Community Development, Public Works, Police Services and Recreation departments.
