Ten cars were involved in a pile-up and related accidents on westbound California 126 on Tuesday near Saticoy, injuring one person and clogging traffic for about two hours, the California Highway Patrol reported.

About 7:45 a.m., a Honda Civic driven by 19-year-old George Perez Jr. of Santa Paula rear-ended a Ford pickup near Wells Road and started a chain reaction involving four other cars on the freeway, CHP Officer Dave Webb said.

“Everyone was getting off at Wells, traffic backed up, people came up on it too fast and bam,” he said. Damage to the vehicles was light to moderate, he said, except for the Honda, which was pushed under the back of the pickup. There were no serious injuries, he said.

Three other cars crashed into each other near Todd Road because of the six-car collision, authorities said, and 38-year-old Gregory Allen Presser of Santa Paula rolled his car about an hour later.

Presser was approaching the under-crossing when he slammed on his brakes and his car swerved into the dirt center divider and flipped.

Presser was taken to Santa Paula Hospital with multiple cuts and abrasions and complaints of pain to his shoulder and back. He was treated and released.
