Mayor Bev Perry is undergoing treatment for viral meningitis at St. Jude’s Medical Center in Fullerton, after checking herself into the hospital Monday morning. Perry is expected to remain hospitalized for three to five days. Assistant city manager Tim O’Donnell said Perry left a Super Bowl party Sunday complaining of headaches and back pains. When the pains didn’t subside by Monday morning, she checked herself into the hospital. O’Donnell said Perry may have been working too hard, contributing to the illness. “Bev is a workaholic,” O’Donnell said. “She’s on full throttle all the time.”
