Emmy-winning comedy writer Hal Kanter will emcee shows featuring comedy and music this weekend at the University of Judaism. Kanter has written jokes for many of the all-time comedy greats, including Johnny Carson, Jack Benny, Bob Hope and Danny Kaye. Comics Jackie Kahane, Mark Schiff and Bruce Smirnoff will be featured, along with husband-and-wife singing duo Karen Benjamin and Alan Chapman.

Mystery Theater

The Woodland Hills Theatre will present an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “Murder at the Vicarage,” featuring Miss Jane Marple, opening Friday in West Hills.

Classical

The San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra will perform its “Winter Concert,” featuring Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Dvorak’s Violin Concerto and other works, Saturday evening in Woodland Hills. Violinist Nancy Roth will be the featured soloist.

Reagan Tribute

In honor of Ronald Reagan’s 89th birthday, the Reagan Presidential Library and Museum will hold a classic car show Sunday in Simi Valley. The official Reagan Library California automobile license plate also will be unveiled, and more than 50 classic cars will be displayed, including a 1932 Ford Roadster, a 1956 Corvette and Reagan’s personal 1970 Ford Custom Ranch Wagon.
