How soon they forget.

Kevin Thomas writes that “ ‘Santitos’ . . . has the same kind of humor, charm and sensuality that made ‘Like Water for Chocolate’ the most popular foreign-language film until ‘Life Is Beautiful’ came along” (“ ‘Santitos’: Refreshing Tale of One Woman’s Reawakening,” Jan. 31).

In fact, “Il Postino” dislodged “Like Water for Chocolate” from the top slot among foreign-language films, only to be itself replaced by “Life Is Beautiful.”

Regarding Kenneth Turan’s Jan. 28 review of “The Cup”:

The real-life soccer player’s name is Ronaldo, not Reynaldo. He’s one of the best in the world and deserves to have his name spelled correklie, even by a philm kritik. Don’t infuriate us fztbol fanatics. We’re a fantastically fearsome flock.
