Superior Court Judge Keefe Dies

Orange County Superior Court Judge Robert H. Keefe died Thursday night of complications from leukemia. Keefe, 59, died at USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“He was a hard-working judge who . . . maintained a tremendous sense of humor,” said Presiding Judge C. Robert Jameson. “We will miss his wit and upbeat attitude.”

Then-Gov. Pete Wilson appointed Keefe to the Municipal Court bench in 1994. He moved to Superior Court in 1998 when the court branches were combined. He also was an O.C. Superior Court commissioner and an attorney.

The Bauxite, Ark., native received his law degree from Loyola University.

He is survived by his four children. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
