* No. 15 UCLA (12-6, 6-2) at CALIFORNIA (7-11, 2-6), 1 p.m., Fox Sports Net--After a 6-0 start, UCLA has lost back-to-back games to Oregon and Stanford, and Thursday’s whipping at Palo Alto, 83-68, wasn’t pretty. UCLA’s twin towers, Maylana Martin and Janae Hubbard, made one basket between them (by Hubbard), combining for three points. Suddenly, UCLA must worry about Cal, believed as recently as last week to be a Pac-10 doormat--until its 81-64 rout of USC on Thursday. The Bears shot 57% from the field and won their second straight after losing nine in a row. UCLA starting point Erica Gomez sprained her ankle Tuesday.

* USC (8-10, 3-5) at STANFORD (13-5, 6-2), 2 p.m.--In the aftermath of USC’s loss at Cal on Thursday, there was no mystery about how the Trojans could make their first eight shots, take a 19-13 lead, then lose by 17 points. Try 29 turnovers. In the first half alone, Trojan miscues sparked 8-0 and 10-0 runs. Stanford made 11 of 23 three-pointers against UCLA.
