Man Hit by Truck on Rural Road Dies
A pedestrian on a rural road died after being hit by a pickup truck Sunday night, according to authorities.
The unidentified man was struck about 7:40 p.m. Sunday when he was in the middle of 60th Street West near Avenue G, a rural, sparsely populated residential area, said Lt. Wallace Fullerton of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s station in Lancaster.
“It was pitch dark” where the man was hit, Fullerton said.
The driver of the Chevrolet truck has not been accused of any wrongdoing, Fullerton said, but the case remains under investigation.
The man who died was not carrying any identification.
