THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:

BREA

* West Central Avenue: A grand theft was reported in the 300 block at 10:10 a.m. Monday.

* East Imperial Highway: A petty theft was reported in the 2500 block at 7:53 p.m. Monday.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY

* Newhope Street: A beer bottle was thrown through the glass front door of a business in the 17900 block at 5:14 a.m. Sunday.

* Sylvan River: A car was stolen in the 12000 block at 12:07 a.m. Sunday.

* Warner Avenue: A man left a Texaco gas station in the 8500 block without paying after getting into a verbal argument with the manager at 3:29 p.m. Saturday.

FULLERTON

* South Harbor Boulevard: An auto theft was reported in the 1100 block at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday.

* West Ash Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 4300 block at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday.

GARDEN GROVE

* Garden Grove Boulevard: A bicyclist reported being attacked by four men with a pipe in the 9200 block at 3:40 a.m. on Saturday. The victim said he had accidentally pulled his bike in front a vehicle and the driver yelled at him. No collision occurred, but the victim followed the car until the car disappeared. The driver then returned to the area with three friends and beat the victim twice with the pipe, he said. The bicyclist suffered minor injuries.

LA HABRA

* West Highlander Avenue: Police responded to a report of vandalism in the 800 block at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

* La Casa at Buena Vista Avenue: Police responded to a report of shots fired at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday.

PLACENTIA

* Melrose Avenue: A petty theft was reported at 12:32 p.m. Monday.

* South Van Buren Street: An attempted burglary was reported at 8:36 p.m. Monday.

SANTA ANA

* Woodland Place: A vehicle burglary in the 3314 block was reported at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

* West Willits Street: A Santa Ana man was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale in 1600 block at 11:05 p.m. on Saturday.

SEAL BEACH

* Seal Way at 14th Street: Report of a community services officer placing temporary no-parking signs in an area already posted at 10:32 a.m. Sunday. Police said the officer was attempting to dissuade illegal parking by those wanting to watch the high tides.

* 1st Street at Pacific Coast Highway: Report of two hearing aids valued at $4,000 being lost between Oakwood Apartments and Leisure World was made at 2:56 p.m. on Sunday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports: Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Orange, Tustin, Westminster and Yorba Linda.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes incident reports available on the Web. Go to https://www.ocsd.org and click on “Sheriff’s Blotter.” Incident reports are updated every few minutes and cover the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forst, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton and Villa Park, as well as the county’s incorporated areas.
