Executive Is Promoted to New Position at Dole

Dole Food Co. in Westlake Village has promoted Peter M. Nolan to the position of president of Dole North America operations.

In this newly created position, Nolan will oversee Dole’s fresh vegetables, packaged foods, citrus, deciduous, apples and fresh flowers divisions.

Nolan joined Dole in October 1992 as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the North American fresh fruit division. In 1994, he moved to the packaged food division to serve as senior vice president for sales and marketing. He was promoted to president of Dole Packaged Foods in February 1995.

Before joining Dole, Nolan held senior management positions with the Scott Paper Co., Van De Kamps Frozen Foods and Campbell Soup Co.

Lawrence A. Kern will rejoin the Dole Fresh Vegetable Co. as president. He left Dole in December to work with Apio Inc., a produce marketer and packer.

Kern will be responsible for the fresh vegetables, citrus, deciduous and apples divisions.

Dole, with revenues of approximately $5 billion, is the world’s largest producer and marketer of fresh fruit and vegetables, and it sells a growing line of packaged foods and fresh flowers.
