Comic actor Don Knotts will sign and discuss his autobiography, “Barney Fife and Other Characters I Have Known,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Borders Books & Music, 9301 Tampa Ave., Northridge.

Knotts portrayed Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife on the CBS-TV sitcom “The Andy Griffith Show” from 1960-65 during which he won four Emmys for best supporting actor. He also starred in feature films, including “The Incredible Mr. Limpet,” “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken” and “The Apple Dumpling Gang.” He also appeared as Mr. Furley in the ABC-TV sitcom “Three’s Company.” (818) 886-5657.

Left of Memphis, a folk music duo from Ventura County, and singer-songwriter Kevin Benjamin perform Saturday night at Exile Books and Music, 14925 Magnolia Blvd., Sherman Oaks.
