The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has increased patrols in the area around a Muirlands Boulevard shopping center where a woman was raped at knifepoint late Tuesday. Investigators used bloodhounds Wednesday to track the rapist but called off the search because of rain.
Lake Forest deputies canvassed the area Thursday and handed out a flier with information about the crime. Deputies will be talking to residents, customers and merchants during the ongoing investigation, the flier said.
