Bettenhausen’s Death Was a Big Story Too
What’s the difference between Payne Stewart and Tony Bettenhausen? Both were tragically killed in an airplane crash, yet Payne’s story was a front-page item and Tony’s story was on Page 3 in Newswire. Tony was a great racer and his loss affects the entire racing community, not to mention all those connected to his racing team.
Why is one death treated so lightly and the other is a national tragedy? Tony deserved better.
