LAGUNA BEACH
The city’s Arts Commission is accepting designs for its annual banner competition.
The banners will be hung on lampposts in the downtown area during the summer months.
The original artwork, painted on 4-by-16-foot canvas banners, is part of the city’s ongoing goal to display seasonal public art.
For the competition, artists are required to paint a portrait using their own oil or acrylic paints. The banner material will be provided by the city. Selected applicants will be notified March 16, and must have the banners completed by May 15. Applicants must live in Orange County. Information: (949) 497-3311.
