* Key: For the Ducks, it’s locating and slowing Florida right wing Pavel Bure, who scored four goals in a victory over Tampa Bay Saturday.

* Season series: In the only meeting, the Ducks got a point for going to overtime, but lost the game, 3-2.

* About Florida: Bure has 38 goals, including five hat tricks, in 40 games since being acquired from Vancouver last season. He has 25 goals and 41 points this season. That’s the good news for the Panthers. The bad news is their goalie situation. Trevor Kidd might not play again this season because of a dislocated shoulder suffered Dec. 13.

FRIDAY AT CAROLINA

* Starting time: 4:30 p.m.

* Television: ESPN2

* Radio: XTRA (690 AM)

* Key: Not looking ahead to Saturday’s rumble in Detroit is important for the Ducks. Carolina is struggling, but the Ducks have slipped up in this type of situation before this season, and they have lost three consecutive road games.

* Last year’s series: The teams split two games.

* About Carolina: Center Keith Primeau, a holdout all season, was nearly sent to Phoenix last week, but the deal got nixed at the last minute. He had a team-high 30 goals last season. Defenseman Sean Hill (groin pull) and center Kent Manderville (post-concussion syndrome) are doubtful. Carolina is 3-7-0-0 in its last 10 games.

SATURDAY AT DETROIT

* Starting time: 4:30 p.m.

* Key: The Ducks are 2-12-3, including four playoffs games, in Joe Louis Arena.

* Season series: The teams have split two games.

* About Detroit: The Red Wings were 4-0-1-0 since losing to the Ducks, 3-1, on Dec. 19. when goalie Chris Osgood, who missed 16 games with a broken hand, returned Sunday against Pittsburgh. He was staked to an early 2-0 lead but the Penguins rallied for a 4-3 victory. The Red Wings have the league’s best record. Defenseman Chris Chelios is a league-high plus-37.
