DANA POINT
Two replicas of 18th-century tall ships will relive the days of old off the coast of Dana Point this weekend during an ocean battle reenactment that will be staged as part of an educational program through the Orange County Marine Institute.
The Hawaiian Chieftain, a replica of a square-rigged ship, and the Pilgrim of Newport, a replica topsail schooner, will hold dockside tours today through Sunday before staging two battle reenactments Saturday and Sunday.
Admission to sail with the crew for the reenactment is $40 for adults and $20 for children, or the scene can be viewed from the Dana Point Marine Life Refuge, directly behind the marine institute.
