LAKE FOREST
A man escaped with about $100 after robbing a women’s clothing store at El Toro Road and Rockfield Boulevard on Wednesday night, Orange County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
After asking an employee at Plus Sizes Plus Savings for assistance about 7:40 p.m., the robber showed a note that said he had a gun and wanted cash, said Deputy Fred Furey of the Lake Forest sheriff’s substation. Deputies arrived two minutes after employees called for help but couldn’t find the man, Furey said. The store reported a loss of about $100.
Store employees said they never saw a gun, Furey said.
Sheriff’s deputies are searching for the robber, who was described as 6 feet tall, with gray hair and wearing a beige baseball cap and a gray long-sleeved shirt.
