* WASHINGTON STATE (3-8, 0-1) at UCLA (7-4, 1-0), 2 p.m.--The Bruins will be looking for a 2-0 Pac-10 start against the dispirited Cougars, losers of their last three. Washington State’s best player, Tricia Lamb, quit last week. UCLA played with new-found confidence Friday night in a 90-54 victory over Washington. Reserves Michelle Greco and LaCresha Flannigan, who have both been slowed by injuries, had 12 points each.
* WASHINGTON (4-9, 0-1) at USC (6-5, 1-0), Lyon Center, 2 p.m.--The Trojans, who only two days ago had a three-game losing streak, have an opportunity to create a battle of unbeatens at Pauley Pavilion next Sunday for the first UCLA-USC game of the season. Point guard Erica Mashia made six of nine three-point shots and had 20 points in a 71-61 victory over Washington State Friday.
