San Francisco Beats Fullerton
Carey Sauer scored 18 points and Jennifer Madkins added 17 to help San Francisco defeat Cal State Fullerton, 90-59, in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday at San Francisco.
The Dons (7-6) made 21 of 31 shots from the field (68%) in the first half to take a 52-29 lead. Fullerton (1-11) shot 38% from the field for the game.
Erin Whiteside had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Kandace Hunter scored 14 points for Fullerton, which opens Big West Conference play Friday with a home game against Nevada.
In nonconference women’s gymnastics:
Arizona State wins--The Sun Devils won the tri-meet with 194.175 points to top host Cal State Fullerton, which had 192.150, and UC Santa Barbara (185.650).
Fullerton’s Megan Berry won the all-around with 38.525 points and teammate Joanna Hughes won the bars (9.850).
